What began as a class project soon grew into an obsession to tell the story of two immigrants who dreamed of a better future that resulted in leaving a lasting legacy. Who would have thought an arranged marriage in a distant country could produce an enduring love that was not traditional in any sense. In the span of less than two years, our family suffered the loss of both Tim and Lillian. My name is Bev Hom, and I am the proud daughter of Tim and Lillian. With the help of my sister, Jennifer, and my brother, Pete, along with documents and research, we pieced together much of the information on this website. My purpose in creating this website was to document as much as I could about my parents' lives in order to teach future generations that dreams are not impossible. I especially wanted to leave a record of my parents' journey for their grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and so forth, so they know where they came from and what amazing people their ancestors were. My parents' story is just one in many, many stories of immigrants, but it is unique to our family because we are the beneficiaries of their hard work.
